The moment that every young AFL player dreams of being a part in arrives this weekend, the AFL Grand Final. Both the Hawthorn Hawks and Sydney Swans have been outstanding all year and have earned their spots with Hawthorn the dominant side throughout the regular season and the Swans finishing in third position.
One thing that definitely plays into the Hawks’ favour this weekend is the venue. The mighty MCG will be abuzz with predominantly Hawks Fans and they have won 12 of 15 there this season. Skipper Luke Hodge comes back into the side but they will be without Brent Guerra who has been ruled out with injury. Sam Mitchell is one of the Hawks’ big guns but was nullified by Kieran Jack in both contests with the Swans this year and the match up could be a telling factor this weekend.
They are the underdogs and rightfully so but the Swans will come out swinging on Saturday. They have a horror record at the MCG and is an obstacle they will have to overcome to taste premiership glory. Lewis Jetta has starred for the Swans all year and they will look to the livewire to provide spark this weekend.
These sides are evenly matched across the park but at the MCG on the big stage it is hard to look past the star-studded Hawks.
