AFL Round 22 Preview

August 27th, 2010

The 22nd round of the AFL home-and-away season kicks off this Friday, August 27. With plenty of very interesting matchups as get one more chance to cement their position in the Top 8, there are some very interesting odds available at

Friday will see the Fremantle Dockers kicking things off against the Carlton Blues at Subiaco Oval. The winner in this matchup has the chance to make some waves come September while the loser will remain largely ineffective. Fremantle is looking somewhat more secure on the number six rung, while Carlton is teetering on the edge of the Top 8 in the eighth position.

The Dockers shocked the AFL world last week by making the decision to rest 11 of their best players. While the decision resulted in a 39-155 blowout, it could mean the difference between a win and a loss in this final round of the regular season. With 11 well-rested starters, the Dockers could be too much for the Blues to handle. The pressure to win is certainly on as not only will fans be looking for some justification for the unusual decision, but the team’s recent performances have been lacklustre to say the least.

Carlton has fared much better in these home-and-away closing rounds as they have taken three wins in their last four games. Though, it’s worth mentioning that those three wins came against Richmond, Essendon, and the West Coast Eagles – the three worst teams in the league. The Blues will be looking to Chris Judd to lead them through this must win match as he’s about the only player that has the experience to pull out a win.

The game kicks off this Friday, August 27 and is offering the best odds. Fremantle are listed as 1.60 favourites to take the win.

As you can place your bets from home when betting online, there’s still plenty of time to back your favourite team before heading to Subiaco Oval to cheer them on. With the best odds and unprecedented convenience, is the only place to go to put down your AFL wagers.
